As for our Redeemer, the Lord of hosts is His name, the Holy One of Israel. Isaiah 47:4
There are many people who collect coupons to be redeemed at stores when purchasing food or other items. They do this to save a little money. Some will go to the extreme levels and rarely buy anything without a coupon. As they use a coupon, they are able to redeem back a little of the money that they would have had to spend upon buying an item. They are trusting in the coupon for their desired redemption.
Isaiah says that their Redeemer’s name is the Lord of hosts, the Holy One of Israel.
The world loves to get something back for free. The lower the cost the greater their joy. Living in willful sin, the world feels that they are getting the joy that they have earned and deserve to have. That joy is only in the moment, but will be gone later.
Sin only brings about death. Without someone to purchase them back from their sentence of death, there is only death to look forward to in the end. When a person sins that person has allowed Satan to purchase their lives at the cost of their death.
At the moment Jesus arose from the dead, He was able to redeem every person who chooses to repent of their sins and believe in Him. He is able to buy back the payment for sin that no person can pay–death.
With that redemption, Jesus is able to remove the death sentence upon the head of every person who believes and give that person back one’s life. No other name on earth or in heaven can make that purchase. Jesus is the only redeemer for mankind.
No matter how good of a life you have lived, you have times you have sinned against God. Each and every sin you have done brings with it a death sentence. There is no way you can redeem your life back from that death sentence on your own.
You need one who has the power and authority to redeem your life back for you. The one that can do the redeeming is Jesus, the Holy One of Israel. Repent of your sins and allow Jesus to remove those sin and give you back true life that will last for all eternity. Allow Jesus to be your Redeemer.
Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will allow Jesus to redeem your life; that you will repent of all sins and believe in Jesus Christ for your salvation; and that you will allow God to guide you in living a life away from all sin.
