Isaiah 46:4 God Will Carry You

Even to your old age, I am He, and even to gray hairs I will carry you! I have made, and will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you. Isaiah 46:4

When a child is born, the parents will always carry the child around, to care for the child. This occurs until the child is old enough to take care of one’s own needs. Rarely does a parent continue to care for a child throughout the entire life of the child. Children are always expected to be on their own at some point.

Isaiah records God saying to the house of Jacob that He will carry them, even when they are old, because He had made them and will bear them up and deliver them.

As a person gets older that person wants to be able to be on one’s own abilities and strength. No one desires to be carried as an adult. Independence is desired.

The world believes that one can be one’s own strength and power in any and every situation. One does not need others to really make it in this world. Pride keeps people from being carried.

Every believer who has recognized their need for Jesus for salvation, has learned to that they need to be carried by God. One does not have strength in and of one’s own abilities but must rely upon God for everything to be carried through this life and into eternity. Without God, one only has death.

God is ready and willing to carry a person throughout one’s whole life, from the moment one becomes a believer and is forgiven, until one steps into eternity. He will deliver one from the chains of sin and death and bring one to life that will last into eternity.

There are many things in your life that you feel you must carry in order to survive or to keep moving forward. You may feel as if you are strong enough to carry everything. Do not act as the world does but give God everything that weighs you down and allow Him to carry you and your burdens.

God has created you and wants to carry and deliver you. Allow God to remove the sin in your life and deliver you from the bondages of sin and death. Rest in His strength and abilities, not your own as He works to deliver you unto eternal life.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will know that God has created you; that you will allow God to carry you; that you will allow God to deliver you from all sin; and that you will trust God with your whole life.
