Isaiah 43:10 Chosen To Know God

“You are My witnesses,” says the Lord, “and My servant whom I have chosen, that you may know and believe Me, and understand that I am He. Before me there was no God formed, nor shall there be after Me.” Isaiah 43:10

Everyone likes to be chosen when it is for something good, fun or advantageous to self. This occurs when a lower person is chosen by someone in higher position to move up in status. Usually when this occurs, there is a purpose behind the being chosen that benefits the higher-level person.

Isaiah quotes God on His saying that He had chosen Israel to be His servant, so that they may believe Him, know Him and understand Him, and know that before, nor after will there ever be another god.

The world likes to be chosen to be moved up in status or position. People like to be found among the elite, as though they had ‘made’ it to the top. It is always about self.

Without God calling and stirring a heart, no person would ever come to Him. God does not need any person at all for any reason, but He made mankind to have a relationship with Him and wants all people to know and believe in Him.

The moment a person comes to God that person begins to know who He is and what He is like. One begins to understand God’s perfect love, grace, mercy, compassion, authority, power, gentleness, firmness and much more about Him. New believers begin to understand that God is the only true God that ever was or ever will be.

As the believer begins to know and understand God more and more, one also begins to trust God more and more with one’s entire life. Then one is quick to tell the world about God and who He is.

God has chosen you to be His servant and His witness to the world. He wants you to know Him personally in every way possible and to believe His words, trusting what He says and commands in your life. Take time to get to know who God is by spending time in His word and praying–talking and listening to Him.

Know that He is the only God and that there is no other God. Every other god is a false god, not the one True God.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will know you are chosen by God; that you will be His witness; that you will believe God; that you will understand God; and that you will obey God’s words to you.
