He will not fail nor be discouraged, till He has established justice in the earth; and the coastlands shall wait for His law. Isaiah 42:4
Beginning a task that will take a long time and contain many different obstacles, can become very discouraging for most people. As soon as many obstacles pop up, people will get discouraged and give up, failing to gain their desired goal. Only a few will continue to push through every difficulty and continue on until the goal is reached, no matter what the cost. Failing and giving up is more common than persevering and succeeding.
Isaiah, prophesying of Jesus, says that He will not fail or be discouraged until He has established justice upon the earth, and all are waiting for His law.
All throughout the year people are quick to set some goals in their life and have good intentions on doing what it takes to complete those goals. Yet, as soon a trouble hits, many will give up on those goals and quit trying. A few will keep trying a few times before stopping, but most will stop very quickly. They are discouraged and begin to feel that they will never succeed.
Jesus began a work, nearly two thousand years ago, to bring justice to this earth. Through tremendous persecution, He persevered and did not get discouraged as He went to the cross to bring it about.
Since then, He is still at work at bringing about justice upon this earth. Sin still appears to reign upon the earth and the world appears to be getting away with it, yet, Jesus is not giving up on His goal. In the end He will succeed when He returns to destroy all sin.
Believers, in the same way, must not get discouraged in the work God has called them to do. Disappointments will come, but in the end the believer will be on the winning side.
There are most likely some goals in your life that you once had, but gave up because of troubles that arose causing discouragement to set in. You may even have some goals that appear to still be out of reach, especially what God has called you to do and be. Do not give up but keep moving forward in Christ Jesus. He did not give up on you in discouragement, don’t give up on Him. God will finish the work He has started in you, if you don’t quit.
Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that God will give you strength and encouragement to keep moving forward; that you will trust God’s plan for your life; and that you will see His victory in your life.
