Proverbs 10:9 Walking Securely

He who walk with integrity walks securely, but he who perverts his ways will become known. Proverbs 10:9

Walking is something that the majority of people all over the world do at least some each day. Some will do miles and miles of walking each day, while others just walk a very little distance. Each person has their own way of walking, some fast, some slow, some with joy, some with sadness, some with confidence and others with no confidence.

While most do physical walking, every person has a walk through this life on the journey to death and the life to come.

Solomon says that the person who walks with integrity will walk securely, while the person who perverts his walk will become known by others.

The concept of integrity is being true to oneself when alone and when around others. A person does not change character, actions or beliefs based on who one is around. It is often said that integrity is doing what is right and true even when no one else is looking.

The view of the world is that one can lie as long as one does not get caught. This works very well, but only for a short time. Living a life of not doing the right thing when in secret will always catch up to a person.

One who lives a lie will eventually get caught in the lie or deception. That person will always be looking over the shoulder wondering if anyone caught onto the lie.

Believers are to walk in integrity, meaning that they will always do what is right regardless of the situation or cost. The advantage of walking this way is that one does not have to ever worry about being caught in the wrong. That person is able to walk securely, knowing that the chosen path is the correct and honest path.

Each and every day you are faced with choices to be made as to how to do something. You can choose to do it correctly or incorrectly, living a lie or living the truth. Make it your choice to always do what is right, just as God does with you. God will always do the right thing, regardless of what the situation is or who is involved. Walk through this life with the integrity of God so that you can walk securely never fearing being caught in the wrong.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that God will guide you in walking in integrity; that God will give you strength to always do what is right; and that God will reveal ways in your life that is wrong.
