Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever. Psalm 125:1 Mountains are one thing that do not appear to ever move. Parts of a mountain may crumble and fall down, but the mountain as a whole never moves from its beginning location. It has a solid foundation on which it stands, that will last forever, unlike shifting sand dunes in a desert. Sand is constantly moving from one place to another, even when found on flat ground.
The psalmist states that those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion and cannot be moved at all.
The world thrives on change. People can believe one thing today and something totally different tomorrow. Everything is based off of how a person feels in the moment and is allowed to change in the next moment.
Satan pushes the idea of change, because then nothing is solid. Everyone gets what one desires in the moment with constant change. Gender is currently being determined by how one feels in the moment and fluidity is becoming more common.
Believers are to put their trust in the Lord. No one is to just trust their feelings, which can change from moment to moment, depending upon the situation in the moment.
God never changes. His commands are the same yesterday, today and forever more. What God said in His word, the Bible, still stands true today as it did when written two thousand years ago.
As the believer puts complete trust in God, one is not moved by the current trends and beliefs of the world in the moment and is like a solid mountain. Every action, thought and word spoken is guided by God’s word, trusting that God knows what is best for every situation.
In a world that is constantly changing, it is easy for you to want to change with it and blend in with the world. As a believer, you are called to be different, set apart, holy unto the Lord. Put your trust in God and His word and stand upon that word. Allow your foundation to be in the Lord so that you will not change and be moved by the sinful ways of this fallen world.
Be a mountain for God in a world of shifting sand for self and sin.
Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will put your whole trust in God; that God will give you strength to not be moved by the world’s ways; and that your whole foundation will be built upon God and His Word.
