Psalm 102:21 Declare The Name Of The Lord

To declare the name of the Lord in Zion, and His praise in Jerusalem, Psalm 102:21

Declarations happen on a regular basis. People make declarations on what they will do or not do. Businesses make declarations on how they will do their business and what services they will provide. Nations make declarations of war or peace and how they will run the country. These things are stated because it is what one believes is the correct thing to say or do and wants everyone else to know it. It helps everyone to understand where a person/business/nation stands on some topic.

The psalmist writes that the people who gather together to serve God will declare the name of the Lord in Zion and His praise in Jerusalem.

The world is very quick to declare what they believe in. They want everyone to know that their rights to sin is their rights and no one can stop them. Very few are ashamed to stand up and declare what they believe.

In the temporary view of things, what the world has to declare sometimes appears to be good and right. However, the majority of what is being declared is only temporary and only brings about death in the end.

Believers have something to declare that lasts for eternity. As the world is dying, believers need to declare the name of the Lord. Every person in this world needs to hear about Jesus. They need to be given the opportunity to be forgiven and be given eternal life.

There are some believers who are afraid to declare the name of the Lord in the public because some in the world do not want to hear it. Instead of being afraid, they must be bold and declare the greatest name in their own Jerusalem–where they live.

Wherever you live is your Jerusalem and in that place there are people who need to hear about Jesus. They will hear by your words being spoken. Do not be ashamed or afraid to declare the name of Jesus to this world. It is the only way to salvation and life. Let the world know that Jesus is the Lord who brings salvation and life to everyone who believes upon Him.

As you go about your days, wherever you are, are you willing to declare His name to this world and in your own life?

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will boldly declare the name of the Lord wherever you go; that the world will know you believe in Jesus; and that many will come to the Lord through your testimony.
