In every nation there are times when the leadership of the nation makes some rule that many of the people do not really like. Some people will begin to riot to get them to change the ruling. Others will protest and physically fight back. Many will just sit quietly and accept their fate in defeat and despair despite hating the ruling. A few will try to flee the nation.

At Haman’s request King Ahasuerus made a rule to destroy the Jews. All the Jews who heard about the ruling began to mourn in fasting, weeping and wailing with sackcloth and ashes.

Although there are nations that make rules very distinctly out to destroy Christians, there are many more nations that make rules that go against God’s commands, but not personally out to kill or destroy believers.

Over the years America has made various rules that go against God. Some of these are abortion, same sex marriage, legalizing drugs, gender change and more.

Many believers hate the rulings, but either get very angry and do violence against it or are angry and sit quietly about it, doing nothing. Overall, most do not do what would be the best thing to do and that is to mourn in fasting and prayer over the situation that has been brought upon them. This hands the problem over to God.

God is able to turn over bad rulings in any nation, but He only does that when His people turn from sin, weeping and mourning, to seek Him and His abilities. God is able to direct believers in how to overcome the sinful rulings, hearts can be changed.

Wherever you may live in this world, there are probably some rulings in your nation that go against the commands of God. You may not be in a position to physically do much about those rulings, but you can mourn, fast and pray to God for your nation.

Be His witness and point people to Jesus to bring about a revival in your nation, to turn around the bad rulings. Pray that God can touch the hearts of those in leadership to bring them to make rulings that honor Him and His word.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will seek God when bad rulings are made; that God will work miracles to change the corrupt rulings of nations; that you will weep and fast before God over the lost in your nation; and that you will be witness of God’s love and commands.
