1 Kings 2:3 How To Truly Prosper

and observe what the Lord your God requires: Walk in obedience to him, and keep his decrees and commands, his laws and regulations, as written in the Law of Moses. Do this so that you may proper in all you do and wherever you go. 1 Kings 2:3

All over the entire world people are looking to be prosperous. They desire to have great wealth and be successful in life and seek the secret to getting it. Thousands of books and online articles can be found on how to be prosperous, yet, most people are missing out on true prosperity and life.

David told Solomon, as he was to become king, how to prosper. He must observe what God requires, walk in obedience to Him and keep all of His commands.

It is very easy for a person to get caught up in the world’s view of what being prosperous means. The majority of people seek be prosperous in the ways of the world, rather than seeking God’s way of prosperity.

It was God who sent Jesus to die on the cross to provide forgiveness of sins and true life that will extend into eternity. Since God has provided this life, one must be willing to trust His way of living to be prosperous in the best way possible.

The number one goal of every believer then should be to completely obey God in everything He says to say, think and do. Obedience, out of love, is all that God requires. He wants every believer to succeed in what is most important–true life.

God will never have a person do something that is harmful in the long run of eternity, but what will build the person and fulfill his mission upon this earth. True peace, fulfillment, love, contentment, purpose and joy can only be found in obeying God.

That is true success. Jesus purchased your salvation so that you may live for Him. God gave you His Holy Spirit to lead you and give you strength to obey His commands.

Do not ignore what God has commanded you to do throughout all of scripture. Obey God in everything He commands and see how you will prosper in true and eternal life, not in the temporary things of this world that will fade away with time.

Are you walking in obedience to all God has called you to do and be?

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will know what God has commanded you to do; that you will obey all the commands of God; that you will know the promises of God; and that you will see how God prospers your life.
