1 Samuel 2:10 Opposing God

those who oppose the Lord will be broken. The Most High will thunder from heaven; the Lord will judge the ends of the earth. He will give strength to his king and exalt the horn of his anointed. 1 Samuel 2:10

In many nations around the world there are leaders that if one opposes them, they will be destroyed. Some leaders will destroy the opposer by death and others by prison.

These same types of actions can also be found in various organizations throughout the world. Opposition to leadership is nearly always frowned upon and dealt with harshly. Yet, there are many people who will oppose leadership in the desire to be the leader.

Hannah sang a song of praise to God after the birth of Samuel. She stated that those who oppose God will be broken and that God will thunder from heaven and judge the earth.

Throughout the world there are many people who will directly try to oppose God and His people. Their goal is to destroy all believers and Christianity. This is a part of living in a fallen world that does not know God and can be expected.

At the same time there are many believers who try to oppose God. Even though they claim to believe in and follow Jesus, they choose to not follow His ways completely. Selfishness, pride, greed, and fear rise up in their lives and they choose to live their own way, rather than do what God calls them to do.

These same people will claim the grace of God, rather than becoming holy as He is holy. For a time, it may appear as though they are getting away with not truly living for God, but there is coming a day of judgement upon them.

Every believer must be willing to live by God’s standards and do His will rather than oppose Him.

You must be willing to check yourself to determine if you are opposing God or not. Do not let the sinful ways of the world control your way of living.

Allow God to be God and in complete control of your life. Trust His ways and live according to them, rather than opposing and fighting against God. Be holy as He is holy.

God will give you strength to live for Him and He will exalt you as you lift Him up.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will live according to God’s standards; that you will not oppose God in any area of your life; and that you will know the strength that God gives you to live for Him.
