Deuteronomy 18:13 Be Blameless

You must be blameless before the Lord your God. Deuteronomy 18:13

People who build things that are of extreme high quality always strive for perfection in their craft. The goal is to have no flaws in what they do, regardless of what is being done. Products made in this manner will be of high value and bring in a lot of money.

If there is any flaw in the product, it will often be tossed out and remade. Studies will be made as to why the flaw appeared and how to prevent it from occurring again. Perfection is sought out.

Moses told the people not to take on the practices of the nations they are going in to possess because they are to be blameless before God.

Comparing oneself up against God, one will find that he is flawed and sinful no matter how good of a person he is. Many in the church know this and accept that is the way they are and do not strive to change it in any way. Their thinking is that this is just who they are and nothing can be done about it.

While this is true that they are flawed and sinful, God sent Jesus to remove that sin and change their hearts and minds. The blood of Jesus removed all sin from the life of those who believe on Him. However, it does not just stop there.

Every believer must also strive to be blameless before God. Being forgiven of sins and then purposefully going back into sin is not following God.

In one’s own power and abilities he will not be able to be completely blameless before God. Leaning on God and His Holy Spirit for wisdom, direction and strength, one can become blameless before God in Christ Jesus.

You are living in a world that is full of sin and promotes sin in every area of life. As a believer you are to be different, set apart as holy and blameless before God. Flee all sin and refuse to partake in sin.

Jesus has removed the sin, now it is your job to not go back to that sin and pick it up again. Allow the Holy Spirit to lead and guide you in living in the ways of God so that you may be blameless and without sin before God.

Be blameless before the Lord your God.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will know the commands of God; that you will allow the Holy Spirit to lead, guide and give you strength to be blameless before God; and that you will live according to God’s holy standards.
