Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them. Hebrews 7:25
All around the world people are always searching for meaning or purpose to life and what happens after death. Thousands of different religions have tried to explain these questions and provide a way to a god or to God.
The most common ways to get to God are found in doing or not doing something. The path is vague and changes on a regular basis, to the point a person does not really know that he will make it or not.
After describing how Jesus is a high priest who lives forever, the author shows that Jesus is able to completely save anyone who comes to God through Him, because He is always interceding for the person.
Inside the church there are people who, just like the world, are seeking to know how to get into heaven and be saved. Their focus is often on doing things or not doing things to earn their way into heaven.
Jesus paid the price to for any person to be saved and get into heaven. All a person must do is believe in Jesus and then obey Him.
No matter who the person is and how much he strives to obey God, he will still make mistakes and sin. Even as one does these things, Jesus is interceding for each one for their salvation. He is praying that their lives will be turned around and sins forgiven.
Doing this is not something new for Him, but that He has been doing it forever and His whole purpose of living is to save. God knows what each person needs to turn his life from sin and be saved.
You may be like many in seeking to know if you will be saved in the end. You can see your personal struggles with sin and wonder if God can forgive them.
God is not blind, but sees everything you do and knows everything you think, yet still loves you and wants to save you. Jesus paid the price of death for you knowing what you did and will do.
Instead of trying to be saved on your own by your own works, trust in Jesus. Listen to Him and obey what He commands on how to live your life. He will do what it takes to save you, if you trust Him.
Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will trust the sacrifice Jesus made for you; that you will know Jesus is focused on saving you; that Jesus has provided the way to be completely saved; and that Jesus is interceding to the Father on behalf your salvation.
