Colossians 1:22 Reconciled To Be Presented

But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation–Colossians 2:22

When a person is set up to meet certain high level authorities, they are often expected to look and act a certain way. Often one has to dress up in very fine clothing. Along with the proper clothing, he must act in very specific ways.

Before the person meets the authority, he is shown and explained what is expected of him. This is to ensure that he does not make the authority mad at him.

Paul tells the Colossian church that they were reconciled by Christ so that they may be presented as pure, holy and without any accusations from past sins.

It is common to see many believers believe in Jesus just as a ‘get out of hell’ card. They want to be saved, just to keep from being sent to hell. Living with this mindset often will not change one’s actions or heart from living in sin.

Jesus did not die on the cross to just save people from hell, but to be presented to His Father. His death was a preparation to make a person holy, pure and without accusation.

Prior to His death and resurrection, every person is dirty with sin and guilty before God and all mankind. Once a person believes in Jesus, he begins to be taught what that means and how to live it.

His life is to be changed and he is transformed into a new creation, one that is pure, holy and blameless before God. Instead of staying in sin and death, he chooses to live a new life fleeing all sin.

All of this is preparation to be presented to the Father on the day of his death and step into heaven for eternity.

The moment you chose to believe in Jesus, He has started to clean you up and make you presentable. Using God’s word, you can learn how to live your life as God expects you to live it.

Satan will attempt to accuse you of past wrongs, but Jesus has paid for those sins. He has made you pure and holy, now you must live in that way.

Allow God’s Holy Spirit to train you how to live as Jesus lived, so that you will be ready to be presented as pure, holy and blameless to the Father some day.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that God will show you how to live holy and blameless in this world; that you will allow God to change your life; and that you will be ready to be presented to the Father.
