Luke 19:5-6 Will You Welcome Jesus In?

When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today.” So he came down at once and welcomed him gladly. Luke 19:5-6

Many people like to plan when they are going to invite someone into their home. They want to be able to make sure that their home is cleaned up and ready for a visitor.

Often most people have a somewhat to very messy home that they do not want others to see. Therefore, they do not like any unexpected visitors to show up at their doorstep.

As Jesus was walking along, a man, Zacchaeus, a chief tax collector (hated person) wanted to see Jesus. When Jesus saw Zacchaeus, He told him that he needed to come down and bring Him to his house that day. Zacchaeus was very pleased to do so.

Keeping a clean house is something that many people do not do. Most people know others who keep their house much cleaner and don’t want those people to show up at their house, for fear of judgement about a messy or messier house.

Jesus is desiring to come into the life of every person. His life is perfect, without any sin. He keeps an immaculate house (life) that is picture perfect.

Yet, no person has a perfect life when compared to that of Jesus. It is common to hear some people say that they do not want Jesus in their life, because they are so bad with sin. However, it is those people who Jesus wants to come and eat with. He is willing to go see the worst of the worst to give them a chance to be changed and cleaned up.

Jesus is willing to come in and help clean up the life of every person that is willing to accept Him.

You may look at your life and think that your life is so filled with sin that you cannot allow Jesus in. He wants to spend time with you and help you change.

Do not be afraid to allow Jesus to come into your life. Right now He is not coming to condemn, but to help you clean up your house.

Instead of fearing allowing Jesus into your life, welcome Him gladly in. He is coming to bring you an abundant life, not judgement. Allow Him to make the needed changes.

Will you gladly welcome Him in today?

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that you will allow Jesus into your life and home; that you will allow Jesus to change your life; that you will be glad to have Jesus with you; and that you will trust God with all of your life.
