Luke 16:10 What Can You Be Trusted With?

“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.” Luke 16:10

Honesty in the workplace is something that is often overlooked or ignored. Managers will talk about people being honest in what they do, but many people will ignore what is said.

Occasionally someone does take big things, but more often than not it is little things that people take that don’t have a lot of value. No one really likes a dishonest person, but many are guilty of being dishonest themselves.

Jesus gave a parable about handling things. He then says that one who can be trust with just a little, can be trusted with a lot, and same opposite with not be trusted with little.

When something small is taken or handled incorrectly, most people think that it can be ignored. A common thing taken by many people, that is little, is a pen. Pens are taken from work places on a regular basis. Most people think it is acceptable, yet, taking a pen without permission is stealing.

If a person cannot be trusted with a small pen, how will he be trusted with great wealth or things?

Many believers are guilty of this very same action and other similar actions. God hands people little things to see what they do with it. As the believer handles things correctly, God will give greater things.

These things are not only physical things, but also positions and abilities. Every believer must use every thing and ability to glorify God and build His kingdom. Being dishonest is using these things in the wrong way for personal gain or without permission.

It is the choice of each person to be trustworthy or not.

Every day you will have choices to make as to whether you will be trustworthy with something or not. Instead of following the ways of the world and being dishonest with what you have been given or what is available, follow God and be honest.

Use things and positions in the correct way with permission. Do not allow yourself to give in to “small” things, but be honest in every thing. Although man may not see what you are doing, God does.

You have the choice of being honest or being dishonest.

How much can God trust you with?

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that God can trust you with small things; that God will give you strength to overcome being dishonest in any area of your life; and that you will see God give you greater things because of the trust He can have in you.
