Matthew 13:16 Do You Really See And Hear?

But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear. Matthew 13:16

Seeing and hearing can sometimes be a challenge. There are pictures made with thousands of little dots. If one looks at it closely, he is unable to see what the picture is of. If he stands back and looks, one can then focus on what the picture is about.

The same can go with hearing. Words can be said, but the meaning behind them is often lost on many people. There is often a deeper meaning than just the basic meaning of the words.

Jesus had just told several parables to the people. He then tells the disciples that they are blessed because they can see and hear.

Through the scriptures and every day life, God is always speaking and doing things. God is working in the lives of every person around the world. Most people do not hear or see what God is saying and doing.

The primary reason most do not see or hear is that they are busy with the temporary things of this world. Their focus is only on what is temporary and physical. At times when God is working in their lives, instead of seeing His hand at work, they see it as their own hard work, or pure luck of the draw.

Believers who have allowed their eyes and ears to be opened to seeing and hearing God, will see and hear Him. They will keep their focus upon the things of God, more than the temporary things of the world.

As they read God’s word, they will not just see stories, but they will see how God wants them to live their lives. They will actually see and hear the living and active word of God in their lives.

God is also at work in your life, regardless of where you are or what you are doing. He loves and cares for you more than you will ever know or fully understand.

Seek to see and hear how God is at work in your life and around your life. Do not allow yourself to just go through the motions of life focused upon the temporary things of this world.

As your eyes and ears are open to God and His kingdom, God will be able to do great and mighty things in and through you.

Can you see and hear today?

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that you will hear what God is saying through Scriptures and His Holy Spirit; that you will see what God is doing in and around you; that you will know the blessing of seeing and hearing God; and that you will allow God to use you to build His kingdom.
