Blessed is anyone who does not stumble on account of me. Luke 7:23
People love to follow other people. They like to know how they should live their lives, by watching someone they admire as to how to that person lives his.
While this can help a person learn some good things, it can also cause a person to stumble. When the person being followed fails or does something wrong, it can crush the person following him, causing him to stumble in his views.
After John’s disciples came and asked if Jesus was the One who is to come, Jesus tells them to report what they see. After saying this, Jesus also mentions that the one who does not stumble because of Him is blessed.
One may wonder how one might stumble because of Jesus. Looking at the life of Jesus one will see that He was a human, just like everyone else, but was also God at the same time. Many people struggle with this concept and stumble in their belief in who Jesus was and what He could and would do.
Jesus also lived a holy life that was an extremely high standard, all the while living in this fallen world. Every believer is to live that same type of life. Yet, many stumble and fall away, because they cannot understand it or refuse to accept it.
No believer should see Jesus as just a man or a good teacher. He was much more than that. Those who fully realize who Jesus is and what He requires of every person, will be fully blessed in many ways for following Jesus and His ways.
Whoever looks at Jesus through the eyes of the world will stumble. Seeing Jesus for who He really is will keep one from stumbling.
Open your bible and study who Jesus really is. Study to know what He did and calls you to do. Allow God’s Holy Spirit to guide you and show you how to live your life.
Do not allow the false thinking of this world to corrupt your thoughts on who Jesus is. Allow God to answer your questions about who Jesus is and how to follow Him.
The world will put doubt and fears in your heart and mind, not God’s truth, who Jesus is. As you follow and trust in Jesus, you will be blessed for all eternity.
Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that you will know who Jesus really is; that you will not see Jesus as the world does; and that you will know the blessings of follow Jesus.
