Matthew 11:20 Woe For Not Repenting

Then Jesus began to denounce the towns in which most of his miracles had been performed, because they did not repent. Matthew 11:20

Any time that someone tries to help someone out and the help is rejected, it is a slap in the face to the one offering the help. No one likes to have their help rejected by anyone else, yet this is something that can occur all the time.

Often the help is rejected out of pride. People do not want to admit that they need help, it shows weakness or faults. Others reject it because everyone else is rejecting. They want to fit in with the crowd.

Jesus started to cut down or denounce the towns He had done miracles in. He warned of disaster coming because they had refused to repent of their ways.

God is still in the miracle working business today. Some nations, such as America, has received God’s favor and miracles for many years. Yet, these nations, as a whole, have rejected Jesus and refused to repent. Sin has become acceptable and promoted widely and openly across the nation, including inside many churches.

If Jesus were walking on the earth today, He would most likely denounce America for refusing to repent. Choices to openly live in sinful ways are becoming more and more common. People are refusing to repent, change and live for God.

When a person chooses to repent of his sins and follow Jesus, he will stand out as different. He will be going against the flow of this world. While doing so, he will also be a great light in this world, revealing Christ and His great love and mercy. In doing this, it will allow God to perform greater and more miracles in the lives of people. His favor will rest upon the people and nations.

If you will allow God to open your spiritual eyes to see what He has done you will see many miracles on a regular basis. As you see and recognize these miracles being performed, turn your life more towards God than to this world. Do not allow your heart to grow cold and follow the sinful ways of this world.

God does these miracles to reveal Himself, so that you will repent of sin and follow Jesus. Seek God to help you turn from sin and follow Him. Do not bring judgement upon yourself.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that you will see the miracles God has performed in your life and around you; that you will repent before God of all your sins; and that you will rely upon God to turn from all sinful ways of living.
