My God will reject them because they have not obeyed him; they will be wanderers among the nations. Hosea 9:17
In the marketplace, where there is a fruit stand, some fruit will get rejected when it is not up to standard. If it is deformed or begun to be rotten it will be cast out as not worth selling.
The workplace works in the same manner. If a worker is not working up to standard or is not following the rules he will be rejected and fired.
Hosea tells Ephraim that God will reject them because they did not obey Him. He will scatter them among the nations.
God places a heavy role upon the requirement to obey Him. He is the one in control and has the rightful authority to demand obedience. Throughout scripture God commands every believer to obey His every command. For a person to not obey Him is for him to reject God’s authority.
Jesus took it further with saying that if one loves Him, he must obey Him. Obedience is equated with love. One cannot have one without the other.
Love trusts. When one trusts God, he is trusting that God knows what is best for His life, thus he gives God complete authority over his life. As this is done, he will obey God, because he knows that whatever God asks of him is for his own good.
Many refuse to obey God and want to do their own thing. They are rejecting God’s love and authority in their lives. They are doubting that God knows what is best. In doing so, God will let them go, but will reject them in the end. Ultimately this ends up with eternal judgment in hell. This is not God’s doing, but man forcing God’s hand by rejecting Him.
You can see how much you really love God by how much you are willing to obey His every command. Do not allow your heart to harden against God in doing your own thing, living your own way.
As a believer, you are trusting Jesus for your salvation. As you are trusting Him for your salvation, trust Him also with your day to day life. Allow God to tell you what to do or say. Obey His every command, knowing that He loves you with perfect love and will only have you do what is best for you.
Don’t put God in a position where He has to reject you because you would not obey.
I pray today that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that you will obey God’s every command to you; that you will show love to God by your obedience; and that you will not give God a reason to reject you.
