He said to me, “So of man, stand up on your feet and I will speak to you.” Ezekiel 2:1
Getting to be able to talk someone in a very high position is often very difficult to impossible. Those in a very high position of authority are often too busy to be able or willing to talk to someone who is not really all that important. The average person does not carry enough importance for high level authority to take time to listen to. He has more ‘important’ things to tend to.
Most people will not even attempt to speak to someone in great authority. Others will do drastic things (such as riots, or picketing) to catch the attention of the leaders.
Ezekiel had a vision of God and had fallen down in fear and being overwhelmed. God immediately tells him to get up and that He will talk with him. Ezekiel was no one special at this point, yet, the God of the universe was willing and ready to talk with him.
There are many people, even in the church, who do not think that God is willing to talk with them. They are nobodies, so why would God talk to them?
God is the same yesterday, today and forever. He wants to talk to people. God is ready to share what is on His mind, what is doing and is planning to do. And just like some people, He is willing to talk to whoever is willing to listen.
One of the awesome things about God is that He is able to talk to anyone and everyone all at the same time. Unlike people in authority today, they are limited to their time and space to be able to talk to people. There is no way a human can to talk to everyone at the same time, but God can.
You may feel as if you are unimportant to God, but that is not true. God sent Jesus to die for you, so you have high importance to Him. God wants to talk to you every day.
God has something to say to you, but you must be willing to listen and hear what He has to say. Tune out the things and cares of this world and begin listening to what God has to tell you.
Hear what God is saying through the scriptures and by His Holy Spirit. Stand up today and begin listening to God.
I pray today that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that you will be willing to listen to God’s voice in your life; that you will stop to hear what God has to tell you; and that you will obey God’s word to you.
