Oh, how I love your law! I meditate on it all day long. Psalm 119:97
When a person is in love with someone, all he does is think about that someone all day long. His desire is to be with that person. He thinks about how she looks, how she talks, and what she does. His heart skips a beat at the thought of her and nothing else is important at the moment.
Along with being in crazy love with a person, people also become crazy in love for things of this world. Spending all their time thinking about or working on some object is common among many people.
The object of affection takes all of the person’s thoughts throughout the day. It becomes their number one desire over everything else.
The writer of this psalms is in great love for the law of God. He thinks about it all day long.
There are many people who do not like the law. They do not want to be told what they can or cannot do. Some will think about the law in a way to determine how they can get around the law, not to follow it.
God’s law is perfect. There is the written law, that the psalmist was thinking about as he penned these words, but there is God’s law to every believer.
Every time God tells a believer to do something it is a law or a command. In order for a person to begin to follow God and His commands, he must be willing to meditate on what God has said and follow through with it.
Many will seek the wisdom of man, but God’s wisdom is right there for the taking. All a person must do is hear it, think about it and act upon it. What God tells a person should be what he thinks about all day long to keep him focused upon God.
You may have many things or people you love. The greatest things you can love is God and His word. When God speaks it is His law. Think about what God has told you in His word and in your heart.
Realize how great the words of God are for you. They will bring you life. His words and commands are to guide you to be like Jesus in every way.
Be crazy in love with God and His word to you today and see what God can do in your life.
I pray today that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that you will desire to know God’s word; that you will think about what God has said all day; and that God will give you strength to obey His commands for your life.
