Exodus 39:43 Do Just As God Commands

Moses inspected the work and saw that they had done it just as the LORD had commanded. So Moses blessed them. Exodus 39:40

Following directions is something that a lot of people do not really like to do. The classic picture is on Christmas morning when all the gifts are opened and the child has a gift that has to be put together. The father ‘knows’ how to do it, so he does not look at the directions. Hours later the gift is still not together, because he chose not to read the directions and follow them.

It is common for people to do things their own way, rather than follow directions. People try to cut the corners on work in the workplace, because they know a better way to do it. People are quick to buck the system as they think they have the best way to do something.

Often, when directions are not followed correctly, the results are disastrous. The item does not work, things break, injuries occur, and one can get into trouble.

This does not just happen with people in this world, but also inside the church. God gives directions on what to do, how to do it, or what not to do and people tend to not follow the directions. They think that they have the best way to do it.

Moses gave some men the directions God had given him in how to build the tabernacle and everything in it. When it was completed, Moses looked at it and saw that they had done everything just as God had commanded.

God can see the bigger picture of life. He knows the perfect way to do everything and anything. He is the one who wrote the perfect rule book for every situation in life. Every believer needs to take time to know those directions and choose to follow them.

There are things God has directed you to do in your life. You have a choice to make, will you follow what God has said or will you choose to do your own thing.

If you choose to do your own way, it will not work out and it will result in failure. If you choose to follow God’s directions, you will ultimately have success in the end.

Make the choice to follow God’s directions for your life, even if it doesn’t make sense. God’s directions are best and in the end you will be blessed by following them.

I pray today that you will know what God is commanding you to do; that you will choose to do things God’s way; that you will trust God’s directions for your life; and that you will see the benefit of following God’s commands.
