Revelation 14:5 No Lies

River near mountains

No lie was found in their mouths; they are blameless. Revelation 14:5

Speaking the truth all the time is something that most people struggle with. There are some people who tell lies all the time, but all people tell lies some of the time.

Often people look at telling lies as something major was said that is not the truth. Unless it is a major lie, it is not really a lie. However, not telling the full truth is telling a lie.

In this passage, the people being looked at are the 144,000 who were set a part and saved during a time of tribulation. One of their characteristics that is pointed out is that they were to found to have not lied and were considered blameless.

While the majority of people may state that they are not liars, most do tell lies. It is often found in ‘little’ lies that people tell. When asked how a person looks, many will not state the truth and tell a lie. When asked how a person is doing, many will state that they are doing good, while they are suffering and feeling rejected by God. They put on a false front, making it look like they are doing great, yet are really hurting.

Some people will try to state that they make statements to protect someone else. Telling a lie, no matter what it is for, will always hurt someone else in the long run. Lies are never the truth and are always against God.

People often get angry at others who are found in telling a lie, yet, many will still tell lies themselves. Believers should never be found in telling a lie. Jesus was never found telling a lie. He always spoke the truth, sometimes it hurt, but it was still the truth.

Focus your life upon Jesus and allow His truth to fill you. Allow His words to fill your life to where you no longer fear telling the whole truth all the time. James said that the one who can control his tongue is perfect and can control the whole body.

One of the largest areas in control of your life is with your mouth and telling lies.

Think about the words that you speak each day. How much truth is being said, and how many times are things not spoken that are true?

Will you be found blameless?

I pray today that God’s truth will be in your life; that you will speak the words God would say; that you will be found blameless before God and men of telling lies; that no one can find fault in the words you say; and that your words will be a witness of Jesus to this world.
