And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with every-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. 2 Corinthians 3:18
Whenever Moses left from being before God he had to put a veil over his face because of the great glory of God shining on his face. Paul states that now God has put His Spirit into a person and unveiled his face. Believers are now able to show their face in the transformation process.
It is common for people to put on a mask to cover up what they are really feeling or who they really are. This is not a physical mask, but one of change of character on the surface, not showing the real character of the heart. Very often a person states that he is doing fine, when in reality is falling apart. People do not see the real person.
People in the church are often known for acting the same way. They cover up their faces, not showing the real self. This usually happens with covering up sin, but can also happen in covering up the changes God is doing in their life. They are afraid of the world and what the world might think about them, if the changes were seen.
When a believer unveils his face or heart, so that others may see, it allows others to see what God is doing. It reveals God’s great glory in working in a person’s life.
No believer needs to be ashamed of what God is doing in his life. If the believer is allowing God to work in his life, he is being changed into the image of Jesus wearing His glory. God’s glory will shine through a believer.
Along with the change, a believer will shine as he thinks about what God is doing and who God is. People will see that something is different.
When you go through your days, are you veiling your real self? Or are you letting the world see Jesus through you?
Think about what God is doing in your life and all of His great glory. Think of the wonder of God’s glory. It will transform your face and life. Allow people to see that and allow it to draw others to Jesus.
Be an open book for the world to see Jesus in you.
I pray today that you will know the work God is doing in you; that you will allow others to see God in you; that you will show the real you to those around you; and that God’s glory will be seen in your life.
