Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful. 1 Corinthians 4:2
It is very common for a person to be given a trust. This is the control of something, or ability to make choices regarding something. A common place of trust is in someone’s assets and or business in the event of a death. The person is given control of everything the person owns to deal with in a correct manner. The one who has been given the trust is expected to make choices in behalf of the original maker of the trust.
When a person is given the trust, there must be a certain amount of trust in that person. He is given an extreme level of power over the assets of someone’s materials. There have been many times when the person given the trust, has not proven himself faithful. They take the money and materials and do something with it for themselves and not as expected.
There are many who have done this and were caught and charged for theft. They were dishonest and unfaithful. In the end, they often end up with a large fine and time spent in jail for their theft or failure to handle the trust correctly.
Believers are also given a trust, some assets of extreme high value that need to be dealt with correctly. Every believer has been given the message of the salvation that Jesus provides for every person. They have been given God’s word to pass on to every other person on this earth.
As God has given His message and word to the believer, He expects that person to prove faithful with that message. There are many who are not faithful with the message and hoard it to themselves or use it against others, condemning them.
To use God’s message faithfully, means to live by that message and share it with others. God did not give His message of salvation for one person only, but to be shared and distributed to every person. He wants everyone to be saved.
God has trusted you with His message to this world. You have believed in Jesus and are being saved. Now what are you doing with that message?
Are you proving yourself faithful with the message? This is sharing it with everyone you meet in love and concern for the person.
Or are you hoarding it only to yourself?
I pray today that you know the salvation Jesus provides; that you will share the message of Jesus the world; that you will be found faithful with God’s message He has trusted you with; and that many will believe in Jesus because of the message you share.
