Take care that what the prophets have said does not happen to you: “‘Look, you scoffers, wonder and perish, for I am going to do something in your days that you would never believe, even if someone told you.'” Acts 13:41
Paul and Barnabas were in the city of Pisidian Antioch preaching the gospel message. The people had asked Paul what he had to tell them. Paul then gives them a quick rundown of the entire history of the bible. He brings up the scripture from Habakkuk that God had said He would do something that they would not believe.
Throughout history God has done many different amazing things. People seeing God do miracles has always amazed people. Most people will believe something is a miracle, while others will reject it and try to find a logical explanation for what had happened.
However, for God to say that He would do something that they would not believe, has to be something greater than just a miracle.
In the Old Testament, everyone had to obey the Law and be a Jew in order to be on God’s side. There appeared to be little or no hope for anyone who was not a Jew.
Following the Law also proved to be nearly impossible for anyone to do. If anyone broke any part of the Law, it meant separation from God. Man could not do it on his own.
This is where God stepped in and did something amazing that very few would be able to accept and believe. God sent His Son to die on the cross for the sins of every person.
The world cannot understand this, because why would God, who is all-powerful send His one and only son onto a cross to die for someone who does not love or care for Him?
It is because of His love that He did this.
As a believer you must realize how great His love is and how amazing it is that Jesus died for you. You did not deserve life, but death. Yet, God has given you life.
If you have not accepted Jesus as your Savior, you must do so. See what an amazing thing He has done for you. Know the life that Jesus provides for you.
Stand amazed and give God praise for His wonderful work in bringing salvation to you and anyone who follows Jesus.
I pray today that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that you will be amazed at what God has done for you; and that you will tell others of what Jesus has done for them.
