Matthew 26:32 Looking Past A Trial

Walking with Jesus

But after I have risen, I will go ahead of you into Galilee. Matthew 26:32

On the night that Jesus was going to be betrayed and sentenced to death, He was sitting down at a table talking to the disciples. He told them directly what was going to happen. One of the things that Jesus pointed out was that when He had risen again, He would meet them in Galilee.

When people are going through a difficult time, that moment is the only thing that they see. They often cannot see anything beyond that trial that they are going through. It will appear as if there is no hope left for a future.

As that occurs, many people give up and run. They try their best to get out of the situation or bypass the situation altogether.

Jesus did not bypass the situation that He was in. He stood there bravely and continued walking forward into it. The reason that He was able to do it, was that He could see the hope on the other side of the situation.

For people, death looks like the final answer. Outside of God, there is nothing more powerful and permanent than death. There does not seem to be any hope past death, but with God there is hope after death. Jesus knew that He would overcome death and live again. He knew that He would be walking with the disciples again.

As you believe in Jesus, you have a hope that can rise above any situation in your life. God had a purpose for Jesus going to the cross, and it was not to just end His life for eternity. It was so that He could rise again in ultimate power saving all people.

God may have you going through a situation in which there does not seem to be any hope. It looks like it may be the end of the line for you. Just as with Jesus, it is not the end of the line.

The “worst” thing that can happen to you in this life is death, but that will give you the ability with Him again in heaven. Look forward to the future past a trial in this life. God will raise you up if you are believing in and following Jesus. You have hope!

I pray today that you will know the hope you have in Jesus; that you will know the power God has; that you will know God will raise you up in the end; and that you will look to the future you have with God.
