Deuteronomy 3:22 God Will Fight For You

Do not be afraid of them; the Lord your God himself will fight for you. Deuteronomy 3:22

Battles are occurring on a regular basis nearly everywhere a person goes. Most of the time people do not see those who are fighting behind the scenes to win the fight.

Behind the scenes, there are policemen, the military and attorneys who are helping to fight the enemy to help the citizens. Sometimes their work is directly seen, but most often it is out of public sight of most people. Their job is to gain victory over those who are doing something wrong and are an enemy to the general public.

As Moses was telling Joshua to go over the Jordan River and take the lands, he told him to not be afraid of the enemy, but that God would fight the battles for him.

Every person has at least one enemy and that enemy is Satan. Along with Satan is the world that follows him. Satan is out to steal, kill and destroy every person and everything in the end. He will use whoever and whatever he can to destroy anyone who chooses to believe in Jesus.

Believers not only have the enemy against them personally, but this enemy is against those whom they need to be a witness too pointing them to salvation in Jesus. God desires that every believer to go into the world and be His witness and go into battle against the corrupt systems and ways of this fallen world.

This battle is bigger than any one person, but God goes ahead and helps win the battle. He will fight for the believer and for those who don’t believe to draw them to Himself.

Even though the world is against the believer, he must not be afraid, knowing that God will fight the battle and bring about victory in the end.

You will have troubles, challenges and enemies in your life. The world wants to conquer you and destroy you, pulling you away from Jesus. They also want to destroy those whom God is placing in your path to be a witness to.

Although the battle is great, do not be afraid. Yes, the enemy is greater than you, but not greater than God. God is on your side and will fight the battles for you if you will trust and obey Him with all of your life.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that God will help you not be afraid of the enemy or battles in front of you; that you will trust God’s fighting for you; and that God will give you victory over the enemy in your life and around those you must be a witness to.

Priests Of Moloch (book review)

This book is a short novel continuing the story of Evan MacKeth from the book “Warrior Of The Son“. It is a teen/young adult book following the life of Evan who has chosen to leave his family’s religion of Moloch to follow Iosa (Jesus).

In the previous book it ends with Evan fighting the evils of darkness and getting seriously injured. The start of this book opens with Evan injured and unable to get up. He has learned of his love for Aine, his king brother’s daughter.

The king, Osric, is trying to make amends to his relationship with his half-brother. Osric has chosen to believe in Iosa and destroy the temples of Moloch.

Unable to do anything, Evan is discouraged and begins to question God’s work in his life. In his quiet time, Evan feels that something very evil is about to occur but does not know what it is.

Fighting against Iosa, the priests of Moloch mount an attack upon the king and his people to regain control.

This story has a lot of fighting and violence described. The main characters show a solid trust in God and His strength in their stand against evil. Throughout the story various scriptures are quoted, though no direct reference as to where it is found.

I highly recommend reading this story for a short read that will encourage you to stand strong for God and to trust in His strength to do all things.

Numbers 21:34 Repeat The Battle

The Lord said to Moses, “Do not be afraid of him, for I have delivered him into your hands, along with his whole army and his land. Do to him what you did to Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon.” Numbers 21:34

Every nation has had battles that were fought, winning some and losing some. As battles are won, the military looks at what went right and wrong and remembers it and learns from the experience.

Learning from what had occurred allows the military to improve or repeat a battle for another victory.

Og, king of Bashan, came out in war against the Israelites. God told Moses to not be afraid but do to him as was done to the Amorite king, for He has delivered him into his hands.

Although most people will never have to fight a physical war against any other nation or group of people, most will have battles in their lives on a regular basis. Most of these battles will be spiritual battles against the enemy that fights for the destruction of the soul and heart.

Every believer must fight a battle against temptation. The world will seek to tempt the believer into sinning against or doubting God. As a believer looks to God for victory over temptation and finds a way out from it, he gains new experience in overcoming temptation and destroys the work of the enemy.

Once a believer overcomes an enemy, he must remember what was done and hold on to that testimony. He can be encouraged that God will give victory again. In the same way he can defeat the next enemy of his soul.

God will give the believer strength, wisdom and direction on how to defeat and destroy the enemy tempting him.

You will have to face the enemy in battle as a believer. The world is out to destroy you as much as God is out to give you an abundant life.

The moment you chose to believe in Jesus and follow Him, you began to defeat the enemy in the power of Christ. Until you step into heaven, the war for your soul is not over. New enemies will attempt to attack and destroy you.

God will give you victory each time over the enemy as you fight the battle in His strength and power. Never forget how God gave victory in the past and repeat the battle for another victory.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will see how God has given you victory in the past; that you will see the path God has given you to gain victory over the enemy of your soul; and that you will defeat the enemy in the power, direction and strength of God.

John 18:36 Not Of This World

Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jewish leaders. But now my kingdom is from another place.” John 18:36

Throughout the world there are many different types of kingdoms. The most commonly known ones are those of different nations. Along with the nations being kingdoms, there are also kingdoms among businesses.

The focus of the kingdoms is to rule and reign as the best, and pushing back or removing the competition or enemy. Each one has a different method of focus and method to be the best.

As Jesus was being arrested and tried, he was asked what He had done to cause His people to hand Him over. Jesus stated that His kingdom was not of this world and that it worked in a different manner.

The world likes to fight for what it wants. The type of fighting that is usually done is physically. Nations and businesses are made up of people and people will do whatever it takes to get what they want.

Those who are a part of the kingdoms are willing to fight for their leaders and country. Their desire is to protect it at all costs.

God’s kingdom is not of this world and thus works in a different way. No one can physically walk to God’s kingdom, it is in a different realm. Even though it is of a different realm, there is still a battle going on.

Although there is a battle going on, it is not a physical one, but a spiritual battle. Physical fighting is not a part of the battle plan. Believers do not have to physically fight to win this battle. It is won with prayer, sound doctrine, and love. With this type of battle, things may occur that appear crazy, such as Jesus going to the cross, to win the real battle.

Even though you are a part of this physical world, as a believer you are a part of another kingdom and world. As God works in your life, there will be times you must go through situations that do not make any sense.

Instead of physically fighting, you must pray and move forward with God’s plan for your life. You are a part of an eternal kingdom that will never fail or fade away. The problems in this life will fade away with time.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that you will be a part of God’s eternal kingdom; that you will be a part of the spiritual battle of God’s kingdom; that you will fight in God’s manner and ways; and that you will look forward to eternal life with God some day.
