Acts 24:14 Are You Willing To Admit To Worshipping God?

However, I admit that I worship the God of our ancestors as a follower of the Way, which they call a sect. I believe everything that is in accordance with the Law and that is written in the Prophets. Acts 24:14

Admission of doing something is often not done by many people, because it often means that they are doing something wrong. As a whole, most people do not being known as going against the flow of common society.

Instead of admitting publicly what they do, people hide it and skirt around admission. They don’t want to be seen as a crazy or bad person.

Paul was being charged in court for doing wrong. After saying he is innocent of the charges, he admits that he is a follower of the Way (that the court believed was bad) and a believer in the Law and the Prophets.

Many people are very quiet about their belief in Jesus. They know that a lot of other people are against it, or think that they are against it, so they do not want to say anything about Jesus. They will not deny Christ, but neither will they be His witness. They fear repercussions or whiplash for their belief, or it is that they do not truly follow Jesus.

True believers are not afraid to make bold, public statements that they are following Jesus. Their lives are also being lived in a way that shows that if they made that statement, it would be able to be proven as true. There is evidence that they live for God.

Admitting that one follows Jesus will often open doors to persecution and ridicule. However, at the same time, it can open other doors for others to choose to believe in and follow Jesus.

If you are a believer in Jesus, are you willing to share that information with the world?

Do not live your life as a believer in secret, but let the world know. Do not deny Jesus by a sin of omission, by being quiet when you can speak. Shine the light that has been given to you, so that everyone has a chance to know Jesus.

Trust God when you make those statements that He will take care of you, should you have to go through any persecution.

What are you willing to admit to for the world to see?

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that you will not be ashamed to tell the world about Jesus; that there will be evidence of you believing in Jesus; and that you will trust God when any persecution comes to your life.

Acts 25:7 Unprovable Charges

When Paul came in, the Jews who had come down from Jerusalem stood around him. They brought many serious charges against him, but they could not prove them. Acts 25:7

Every day courts across the nation are filled with people being tried for many different things. The goal of the courts is supposed to be to seek the truth of a given situation and judge accordingly.

In every court case there is one side that tells the truth and one side that is telling a lie, one innocent and one guilty. No one really wants to be on the guilty side.

Paul was in court being tried. Those who were accusing him had brought many different charges against him, but none were able to be proven true. Paul was found to be innocent.

The world does not like believers and will often do what it can to destroy one. Following the ways of their leader, Satan, the world will cast many accusations against a believer.

Sadly, over the years there have been many believers who have been guilty of what was said. Believers guilty of embezzlement, cheating, lying, adultery, and much more.

Every believer should be living their lives in such a way that the world will be unable to accuse them of any wrongdoing. The world should be unable to prove any charges of doing wrong in the life of a believer.

When a believer is living his life as pure and holy, like that of Christ, Satan will be unable to prove any charges against him. The only charges a believer should be guilty of is doing what God wants done that is against the ways of the world. As long as it does not break God’s laws, one should never break the laws of man.

Each and every day you have a choice as to how you will live your life. You can live your life as the world lives, in sin and falsehood. Or you can live your life like that of Jesus, pure and holy.

The world is watching you and is waiting to accuse you of something. Live your life in such a way that the world can throw many accusations against you, but none of them can be proven.

Let your life be a witness of who God is to this dark and fallen world. Let the world be amazed when they cannot prove anything wrong against you.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that God will guide you on how to live your life; that you will live a holy life as Jesus was holy; and that the world will be unable to prove any wrongdoing by you.

1 Corinthians 6:7 Being Wronged And Not Fight Back

Being Wronged

The very fact that you have lawsuits among you means you have been completely defeated already. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be cheated? 1 Corinthians 6:7

Paul talks about how the Corinthian church was taking people to court. They would place a lawsuit against another person because of something that person had done wrong. He calls them completely defeated because of these lawsuits.

In America, lawsuits against a person or company is a very common thing to happen. Something does not go just perfectly right and a person is ready to file a lawsuit.

A doctor does not do something correctly or makes a mistake and there is a lawsuit made up. A person in a restaurant or some other business treats someone wrong and there is a lawsuit. The floor is wet in a business and some one slips and gets hurt, and there is a lawsuit. Workplaces see lawsuits all the time for treatment of the workers. And the list of lawsuits is endless.

In this mix of lawsuits are many believers. Paul said a believer must take the wrong and move on.

Look at the life of Jesus. How many times did people do Him wrong? And yet, He did not fight back or create a lawsuit against them. He knew who was in control and let His Father deal with the person correctly.

Every believer must know who is control. It is God who is in control. If God is the one in control, then it is probable that He allowed the situation to occur to build you up in a certain way, or to allow the believer to be a witness to someone.

When a believer shows love to a person who has done him wrong, it will speak volumes. If a believer does not fight back when wronged, it will show God’s love.

There is going to be times when someone does something wrong to you. Even though the government and the world says you have a right to fight back, that is the time to turn the other cheek and let God deal with that person in His own way and time.

Instead of drawing up a lawsuit, seek to show that person love and forgiveness Be a witness of who Jesus is and was. Trust that God is the one who is in absolute control and not fight back.

I pray today that you will know God’s love for all people; that you will trust God’s path for your life; that you will not fight back against those who have done wrong to you; and that God will give you strength to love your enemies.
