“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.” Ephesians 3:20-21
Throughout time, men and women have done some incredible things. In the ancient days one can see the great pyramids in Egypt. Later one can see the amazing building of the Great Wall of China. During the 1800s was the invention of the printing press and the various medicines were developed to help people. In the last hundred years, from cars to airplanes to traveling to the moon. The ability to take metal and make it work like the computers and smart phones is amazing feats of men.
People are honored for the things that they have done. People look at inventors and stand in awe of what they are capable of doing.
Yet, with all these things done, the great imaginations of mankind, God can do much more. There is no way to measure how much God can do. Remember that He created everything that there is. He even created the ability for man to invent new things.
It is good that people get honored for what they have done, but have you forgotten about God and what He can do?
In life you may be going through a battle that does not look good for you. The odds appear to be stacked against you. Go to God with it and trust Him. He can do more than you can possibly imagine. If God can created everything you see in this universe and wonderful world, don’t you think He can meet your “small” problems in life?
Knowing this be willing to trust Him and give Him the glory. Realize that it is His power that allowed you to get through a situation in life. It was His doing that provided for all of your needs. Tell everyone you know about what God has done for you, and is doing for you, and will do for you. Give God the credit, not yourself or other people.
What will you ask God for today? What will you trust God for today?
I pray today that you will know the power that God has to help you; that you will trust Him; that you will give God the glory for things done; and that you will tell others of God’s work in your life.
“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” James 1:5
Every person has knowledge about many things. Many people have a lot of knowledge about something. Few people have a lot of knowledge and wisdom about anything. Think about the person who just finished reading a book on how to drive a car, no one would want him to go out and start driving the car alone. Why is that? It is because he does not have the experience or wisdom on how to drive that car. There is a difference in knowing to push the brake pedal to stop and knowing how hard to push the brake pedal to safely stop. This difference is the difference between knowledge and wisdom. Wisdom is knowing how to correctly use the knowledge you have. Many people have a lot of knowledge with very little wisdom in how to use it correctly.
In this passage you are told that if you lack wisdom ask God for it. God is above all, sees all and knows all. He has perfect wisdom. God knows how to best do anything that needs to be done. Man in his finite mind only knows a little. No person would have on his own came up with the idea of providing salvation for the enemy by killing His own son, but God did. In His perfect wisdom He set up the plan for salvation from the beginning. God not only has perfect wisdom, but He is also willing to share it generously with you.
Often people feel that they cannot have the wisdom of God because of something in their past or that they have not had proper training. Training provides knowledge, but cannot always provide wisdom. Remember God has wiped away the sins of your past from His memory and He uses the foolish things to confound the wise. God wants everyone to have the same perfect wisdom He has. Having this perfect wisdom allows you to work and speak in perfect harmony with God’s will.
Today if you need direction in some area in your life ask God. He will give you the wisdom to make the correct decision. Trust God in providing the correct wisdom and act on it accordingly. Do not doubt God and His wisdom. Do not try to do things in your own wisdom or the wisdom of man, seek God’s wisdom.
I pray that today God will give you all the wisdom you need; that you will accept the wisdom of God; that you will not doubt God’s wisdom; that God will get the glory for the choices you make based on His wisdom and direction; and that God will use you in a mighty way to build His kingdom.
