Luke 13:32 No Stopping Under Threats

He replied, “Go tell that fox, ‘I will keep on driving out demons and healing people today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will reach my goal.'” Luke 13:32

Setting a goal is something that many people do. They have dreams of accomplishing something and set a goal to achieve it.

Although goals are commonly set, most do not reach their goals. Most hit some roadblock or difficulty and give up. Or the goal costs too much for them to continue to pursue it.

Some of the Pharisees suggested to Jesus that He leave the area because Herod wanted to kill Him. Instead of leaving, Jesus told them that He would continue to do what He does until He reaches His goal–death on a cross.

Every time a goal is set, there will also be some obstacles that a person must overcome. Every goal will come with some challenges to stay focused in order to reach the goal.

The ultimate goal Jesus had was to die upon the cross in order to give life to those who follow Him. Every believer must also have an ultimate goal in his life. That goal is to die to self so that he may live for Christ.

Doing the work of God upon this earth is the beginning of dying to self. Every day God presents opportunities for the believer to do His work upon this earth.

As these opportunities arise, there will always be challenges to accomplishing them. Satan and the world will be out to kill the believer, either physically or mentally. They do not want the believer to succeed.

Yet, each believer must be determined to continue to do God’s work until that goal is met. He must die to self and be a witness to as many people as possible, as he becomes more like Jesus each day.

God is working in your life to make you more like Jesus. You must determine in your heart that you will not give up or stop short of that goal.

When this fallen world puts obstacles in your way or threatens your life, keep going forward. Do not let threats of the enemy stop you from what God has for you.

Keep doing the work God places before you day by day and reach that goal.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that you will know the path God has for you; that you will do the work God has for you; and that you will become more like Jesus every day.
