Ezekiel 45:9 Do What Is Just And Right

This is what the Sovereign Lord says: You have gone far enough, princes of Israel! Give up your violence and oppression and do what is just and right. Stop disposing my people, declares the Sovereign Lord. Ezekiel 45:9

Every nation has some leaders who are oppressive of those under them. They use brute force or violence to control the people and get what they want. Some of these are the top leaders, while others are lower down in authority. They can be found in homes all the way up to the head leader of the nation.

Underhanded wording or violence often pushes people out of position and places in order for someone else to get what he wants. The lives of many people are hurt and often destroyed because of these types of actions.

God tells the leaders of Israel to stop oppressing the people and to do what is right. He is bringing it to an end.

All throughout history  God has always done what is just and right for each and every person,  both individually and corporately. He is able to do this because of His great love for the people. Love compels God to do what is best for each person.

There have been some in the church who have lost the love of God in favor of position and power. They push and demand their way, crushing those who oppose them.

This type of action should never occur. Every believer is to be filled with God’s great love for everyone else. That love will compel them to do what is just and right to and for each person they are around.

As the church is living like this, it will spread through a nation all the way to the top levels. It is love, compassion and kindness that draws people to God, not the violence, oppression and demands that are often seen.

Regardless of your title or position in a church, or lack of one, you are a leader to someone. You have a choice in how you lead others.

Choose to lead in love doing what is just and right for each person. Show the love, compassion and mercy God has shown you to others. Give up the violence and harsh demands and replace them with God’s love. Love will go a long ways and cover up a multitude of sins. It is what builds God’s kingdom.

I pray today that you will know God’s love for you and all people; that you will lead others in God’s love; that God will guide you to do what is right; and that you will build His kingdom in love.
