Isaiah 42:4 Never Discouraged

Sunshine through the clouds

He will not falter or be discouraged till he establishes justice on earth. In his teaching the islands will put their hope. Isaiah 42:4

Discouragement has killed many dreams and desires of people throughout history. People have great dreams about accomplishing some great thing, but as failure and difficulties arise, discouragement sets in.

The more a person looks and feels discouragement, the higher the chance of quitting the task arises. People give in to the negative responses and lose their dreams. They settle for second best or worse, then what the original goal was, stopping short of what is best.

Isaiah has some prophecies about Jesus and what He will be like. One of the things prophesied is that he will not be discouraged or give up in His task to bring justice to the earth.

Some people have wondered what Jesus has accomplished or if He really was successful. Looking at the world, it appears that it is worse then it was during the time He walked on the earth, and is getting worse all the time.

Many have started to work at building God’s kingdom, only to be faced with a mountain of difficulties. In facing these problems, many have quit building. They see it as an unsurmountable task that they have failed at. They give in to the pressures of the world.

Those who are truly following Jesus will not give in. They will see that Jesus is still working towards the same goal He had begun nearly two thousand years ago.

Focus needs to be upon the those who are changing and the work God is doing right now. One may have to look at the little steps being made, rather than focusing on the long road ahead. Seeing the progress being made will stop discouragement and give one the strength to keep going forward in the mission to build God’s kingdom.

You may have things in your life that have appeared as failures and major mountains. Discouragement has crept at your door, attempting to get you to stop and give in to the pressures of this world.

Take a look at what Jesus started and has not stopped doing for centuries. He is not discouraged, and so, neither should you be. Focus on doing what God has called you to do and keep doing it faithfully.

In the end God will succeed. As you follow God, you also will succeed if you do not give up.

I pray today that you will know God’s plan for your life; that you will see God at work in your life; that you will keep building God’s kingdom; that God will remove all discouragement in your life; and that you will see the hope you have in Jesus.
