1 Chronicles 28:9 How To Not Get Rejected

Woman seeking God

“And you, my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the LORD searches every heart and understands every desire and every thought. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will reject you forever.” 1 Chronicles 28:9

Rejection occurs a lot in this world. People want to do something or get something and they are rejected for one reason or another. Many people suffer greatly from being rejected because of circumstances outside of their own control or because of past choices made.

Getting rejected discourages many people from continuing to try. They want to give up and quit.

As David was nearing his death, he gave some last advice to Solomon, his son. He told Solomon to serve God with all of his heart and to always seek God. As he does these things, he will never be rejected.

While churches can be filled with people, not everyone in the church is seeking God with a whole heart. Many are divided in the heart on serving God, self and this world. They often want the best of both worlds, that of God’s and the world’s.

God can see into the heart of a person and understand what the person is saying or doing. Just going to church and saying a few words, does not make a person a true believer in God or one serving with the whole heart. Selfishness and jealousy often play a role in what a person does.

Serving God can easily be about saving self for self’s sake, rather than about love for God. People often feel that they cannot find what God wants of them. It is because they are not really seeking God with their whole heart. They only want to see or hear parts of God and His word.

When you seek God with all of your heart, you will find Him. He wants to be found. But if you choose to seek Him with only a part of your heart, you will not find Him and will be rejected.

Take time to dedicate everything in you to serve God. Seek His wisdom and direction for your life and don’t back down from it. As you do that, God will guide you and lead you. He will not reject you.

To choose this world, is to reject God. To reject God, is to be rejected for eternity. Don’t get rejected.

I pray today that you will seek God with all of your heart; that you will serve God with all of your life; that you will not be rejected by God; and that your life will be wholly devoted to God.
