So all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of the LORD with shouts, with the sounding of rams’ horns and trumpets, and of cymbals, and the playing of lyres and harps. 1 Chronicles 15:28
As a famous singer or band comes out on stage for a concert, the people go crazy. They shout and scream with excitement at the idea of the singer coming out. They are excited to see the person or band.
People love to be in the presence of someone famous. The closer they are to the celebrity, the more excitement there is. Many want to be as close as possible. Some will even fight to get closer, just so they can say they were near the person.
For a number of years, the ark of the covenant had been captured by the Philistines. Then as they began to bring it back, an accident occurred, causing them to leave it out of the city. Finally, David was able to go and bring it back to Jerusalem.
As they were bringing the ark back into the city, the people were shouting, dancing and making a lot of noise. They were excited for it to be back. The ark meant God’s presence was back with them. They had the hand of God’s favor on them again and there was no holding back the excitement.
Believers can have God’s presence with them every day. Yet, many do not show any joy in their lives at what they have. They let the cares and fears of this world to overcome them, stealing their joy.
God’s presence, means that the believer has the King of the universe in their presence. This should bring joy and excitement, a joy and excitement that cannot be contained. One should be willing to shout it out loud what is happening. Let the world know that God’s presence is there.
God’s presence is also with you, if you are trusting in Jesus. Open your eyes and heart to see and know His presence with you. Then realize Who is really with you.
With God’s presence in your life, you will have victory over this world. There is peace and a joy that the world cannot understand.
As you allow God’s presence in your life, let the excitement and joy begin to show. Let the world know that God is with you. Be willing to shout and dance with joy at God’s presence. God is in the house today!
I pray today that you will know God’s presence in your life; that you will know the joy of knowing God; that you will not be ashamed of Jesus; and that you will let the world know who Jesus is.
