Joshua 8:24 Read All Of It

Read the bible

Afterward, Joshua read all the words of the law–the blessings and the curses–just as it is written in the Book of the Law. Joshua 8:34

Reading is something that some people enjoy a lot, while others despise. Some will not pick up a book to read anything, even to save their life, while others are never seen without the nose a book.

The types of books that people read cover an extremely wide spectrum. Some like only certain types, such as sci-fi, fantasy, novels, romance, adventure, biographies, auto-biographies, history, learning, and much more. Each person is different in what they will or will not read.

One type of book that the majority of people do not read is law books. These books are very dry, with lawyer talk. All this type does is talk about what can or cannot be done and cases and consequences of both.

After the mistake of Achan and the Israelites were able to take the city of Ai, Joshua called all the people together, including women, children and foreigners, to read the entire Book of the Law. Everyone had to stand or sit around and listen to all the words from the Book of the Law, which is today’s Genesis through Deuteronomy.

Today the Book of the Law is included in the bible. The bible is still classified as one of the best sellers world-wide, yet, very few people actually take time to read it. Or when they do read it, they pick and choose what they will read.

It is common for many believers to have never read several books of the bible. They skip past some because they are too ‘boring’, the laws, the sacrifices, the numbering of people, and the judgments. They want to only read about the blessings.

God has given you access to His word through the bible. In order to know all of what God has to say about anything, you must take time to read His word. It is His law book, guidance book on how to live on this earth and prepare for eternity.

Yes, there are many blessings, but there are also some curses. While there are some exciting spots to read, there are also some dry spots to read. However, the entire word of God is profitable. It can help you live for Him.

How much of the bible have you read or are reading?

How much of the bible are you skipping?

Read the bible today.

I pray today that you will open your heart to God’s word; that you will see the value of God’s word in your life; that God will change your life through His word; and that you will hide God’s word in your heart to share with others.
