Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Ephesians 6:10
Being strong is something that the world believes in. All over the world there are many men and women who work out in a gym on a regular basis to build their strength. People love to see a person who is physically very strong. They feel that a strong person is able to do anything and everything.
Children are told to be strong and stand up for what they believe and to take a stand against bullies. People are told to stand up against wrong against them. Thousands will march in a stand of strength for their rights or for someone else’s rights.
Everyone is told that they can make it if they try. One can be and do anything that he wants, because he is a strong person.
People love to see people who are strong and can stand up against someone who is bad or in the wrong.
Paul believes that a person can be strong also, but not in his own physical power or abilities. He states that the believer is to be strong in the Lord. The believer is to find his strength in God, not his own personal physical abilities.
A person can be the strongest person in the world physically, but be an extremely weak as a person spiritually. He can still be dead in his own sins as he is the strongest person according to this world.
Real strength is not seen in physical strength, but in seen in the character of the person. A non-believer will always fall short in character, regardless of the good he does, because he does not follow God and lives to sin.
The believer relies upon the salvation and forgiveness Jesus provides. He will rely up the Word of God to show him the truth. He will rely upon God’s Holy Spirit to guide and work through him. He is being strong in the Lord, not in himself.
Each day you must find your strength. If you are looking for it in the same way the world does, you are weak and will fail. Find your strength in God. Jesus showed the ultimate strength by laying down His life on the cross to take away the sins of the world.
Be strong spiritually so that you can fight the spiritual darkness and sin in this world.
I pray today that you will know the salvation Jesus has given you; that you will know the strength God can give you; that you will rely upon the strength and power of God; and that God will reveal His power in your life.
His strength is made perfect in our weakness. When we realise we’re naturally spiritually weak, only then can we be equipped with spiritual strength from on high. Thanks for your post 🙂
