May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13
All over the world there are people who want joy and peace. They want to see an end to wars and fighting. They want to see an end to crime. They want to have joy and happiness in their lives with the absence of anything negative looking.
The world seeks the joy in things that they have or do. People feel that if they have certain items, their life will be filled with joy. Or if they have a certain position in a job or society, they will be filled with joy. Or if they take certain drugs, they will find joy in life.
The challenge with all of these methods of seeking joy and peace, is that these things are all temporary. They do not last when things go tough. The world is filled with and ruled by sin, keeping joy and peace away.
True joy and peace comes in trusting in Jesus. The peace is found in trusting that God is actually in control. There is a peace in knowing that God is in control of everything that is going on. Nothing happens without His permission. Everything that happens is for the best of a person.
The joy is found in the hope that a person can have in Jesus. It is knowing that He has saved the person. It is knowing that there is coming a day when there will be no more sorrow or tears. There is coming a day when there will be eternal life with God.
Both of these are found only in the hope that a person has in Jesus. Believing that He did die and raise again. Believing that Jesus did remove all sin. Believing that Jesus will return again some day.
As you believe in Jesus, you will be filled with an eternal hope. That hope will bring about joy and peace in your life, despite the circumstances going on around you or in your life.
The Holy Spirit will give you the power needed to keep moving forward in this life with joy and peace. Know this joy and peace and share it with every person you meet. Everyone wants to have joy and peace, and you have it.
I pray today that you will know Jesus as your Savior; that you will know the hope you have in Jesus; that you will know the joy and peace found in Jesus; and that God’s Holy Spirit will strengthen you with His power.
