Psalm 30:11-12 Reasons To Sing Praise

You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, that my heart may sing your praises and not be silent. LORD my God, I will praise you forever. Psalm 30:11-12

Seeing a person who is filled with extreme joy is a rare occurrence. Seeing someone who is filled with extreme joy, while going through a trial is even more rare.

When a person is seen who is filled with joy, many people often wonder why he is filled with joy? What gave her such happiness? What went right for that person?

Usually it is something that they had been desiring had occurred. Something had went right for that person to bring on that great joy.

Looking around, it is easy to find reasons to not have much, if any, joy. However, believers have something going for them that should give them great joy. The beginning of a believer’s joy is that God has forgiven his sin. God has removed the sackcloth of shame and sorrow and clothed him with joy and peace that Jesus can give him.

Looking around and seeing the trouble in this world can bring much wailing. The challenges and trials in life can weigh a person down. However, looking up to God and seeing how He is in control and will overcome the sin of this world, should bring about dancing.

God has also filled you with His Holy Spirit. One of the fruits of the Holy Spirit is joy. When God comes and places His Holy Spirit in a believer, that person should be filled with joy.

Think of how many times God has answered a prayer for you. Allow those times to fill you with joy. Think of how many  times God has spared something worse from happening in your life. Give God praise for those times.

As you look at your life and see what God has done for you, start dancing and praising Him. Do not allow yourself to be silent in what God has done in and through you.

What can you praise God for today?

Are you silent?

Or are you loud before God?

I pray today that you will know the joy of God’s presence; that you will see that God has removed the old clothes; that your heart will be filled with extreme joy; and that you will sing songs of praise to God.
