1 John 1:3 What To Proclaim

“We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.” 1 John 1:3

John opens his first letter stating what he wants to talk about. He is going to talk about what he has seen and heard about Jesus. At that time, John was one of the people who was physically with Jesus and was a direct eyewitness of what Jesus said and did.

There are many news channels out there with many different people reporting what has happened or is happening at the moment. Some of those reporters are physically at the location reporting what they are seeing and hearing. Most, however, are reporting from another source telling them what is happening. The difference is that the second group may often get things wrong. The words change and the view changes when seen through someone else.

Children often played the telephone game. This is where a person whispers into one person’s ear a sentence. That person then does the same to the next person, and so on down the line. Once everyone has heard the message, it is spoken out loud to see if it was the same as what it was originally. Most of the time it is completely different.

The best reports come from the one who seen it. Just as Peter wrote about what he had experienced, you also can tell others about what you have experienced.

What has God done in your life?

Why do you believe in Jesus?

How has believing in Jesus changed your life?

These are the things that you need to proclaim and tell everyone you meet. You have been given the gift of life, don’t keep it to yourself. You have a message that can bring life to others, don’t keep silent.

Today proclaim what you know about Jesus. Proclaim what you have seen and heard. Give more people a chance to have fellowship with you, the Father, and Jesus.

I pray today that you will realize the message you have for others; that God will fill you with His boldness to spread His message; that you will proclaim what Jesus has done for you; and that God will draw many to Jesus through your words.
