Mark 13:31 Never Going Away

“Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.” Mark 13:31

Jesus had just finished talking about the end times. He talked about the changes in people and in nature, things that will happen. He then makes this statement that His words will never pass away.

People are always talking about all kinds of things. You have even said many things over the time of your life. How many of those statements do you remember? Do you remember what you said on the morning of Jan 12, 2010? Like most people, probably not, unless something extraordinary happened.

Along with not remembering what you said, you probably do not remember anything anyone else had said that day. All those words had passed away.

Most of what a person says is used for a short time, then forgotten. Very few things stand the test of time.

However, with Jesus, His words never go away. Over 2,000 years since Jesus walked on the earth, many have tried to destroy His words. So far, no one has been able to accomplish that.

His words will not go away, because they are life itself. God’s words are God Himself. It was spoken words of God that brought everything in to existence.

When you look at the words of Jesus about the end time and His return, you may wonder if and when it will ever happen.

The world often states that Jesus will not return. They ridicule believers in asking where is He and why He has not returned.

Do not allow yourself to be discouraged in His return. Along with His return, remember all the other words Jesus had spoken.

Jesus is faithful and is with you. He will provide for all of your needs. He loves you. He will give you strength to overcome sin. He will guide you. He will make you more like Himself. He is your righteousness. He will give you the words to be His witness.

In this new year, remember these things and know that His words (promises) will never fail. Every word He has spoken will be fulfilled. Be encouraged.

I pray today that you will know the promises of God; that you will know God is faithful; that you will believe the promises of God; that God will strengthen you in your trust in Him; and that God will use you to build His kingdom.
